Lets use this space to create a running dialog about decisions benefiting from the input of multiple people - or changes we're asking the administrators to consider.
Actually we prefer if you do so at ICWiki_talk:Policy -- Admin
But if you would like to suggest changes to the Main Page suggest them here!!
More inviting home page?
The home page is certainly informative, but I wonder if it creates a barrier to entering the wiki for newcomers. Its pretty text heavy and doesn't allow direct access to any interesting content.
What do you think of prominently featuring a well-crafted article - one that would be changed on occasion?

Craig, My impression is that the wiki's lack of dynamic energy is an effect of the entire IC site, which has great articles but has significant barriers to participation.
1st of all, it is usually hard to log in because the site changes so slowly that newbies don't check it often probably usually forget their password and log-in name before there is a reason to log in again. Something like the reach book is needed, but there are only five posts per page, usually repeats or irrelevant to almost everyone, AND it is not dynamic because posts must be approved by a moderator. The reality is that other websites have kept modernizing to stay competitive but IC.org has not. The result is that other websites not even focused on communities (like Craigslist) are a lot more effective for networking with strangers about IC topics than IC.org is. That's why I keep suggesting that IC.org include a free Craigslist forum for people to have dynamic instant discussions to give people a reason to remember the site. The "ecovillage forum" already has a lot of material posted relevant to the Reachboard.
