Building Community category

In the context of the Intentional Communities movement, "Building Community" refers to both building community within a specific intentional community or creating more "sense of community" in an existing place or organization - sometimes referred to as "Building Community Where You Are".

"Building Community" is rarely used in reference to construction - however, many feel that it is in common, shared work that the most authentic sense of community develops. Others focus their community building efforts on effective communications, in heart-circles, business meetings, decision-making, and dialog. Consensus is probably the most commonly used name used to label how intentional communities make decisions.
