Micronation

From ICWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A micronation is an intentional community which seeks or has attained sovereignty. Micronations are currently few in number, and most of them are relatively poorly-planned and poorly-organized, aside from their coin-producing and stamp-producing enterprises.

Two examples of libertarian capitalist micronations were:Minerva and Rose Island. Both projects invoked great jealousy from others, and were destroyed as soon as they were created. Minerva was invaded and conquered by the Tongan government, and Rose Island was invaded by a group of four carabinieri and tax inspectors and then literally obliterated off the map by the Italian navy. Due to the absence of a strong international criminal justice system for war crimes, neither the conquerers of Minerva nor the destroyers of Rose Island have been hanged.
